Position Overview

The Sourcing Associate’s primary responsibilities will be to identify and negotiate with vendors regarding materials and components that can bolster our current production process bill of materials.  This role will evaluate suppliers and materials based on quality, cost, and comparability to current materials Eventual career path for this individual would be Sr. Specialist II, Supervisor / Associate Manager, Procurement Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
        • Primary initial project will be to evaluate all materials utilized for our drug product and drug substance processes and ensure we have redundancy for commercial production in late Q2 2025.
        • This role will also serve as the backup to our Buyers and ERP Data Specialist.
        • Utilize the NetSuite ERP system to review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy and generate/issue purchase orders to selected vendors.
        • Provide consistent, professional, timely communication with suppliers to manage on-time delivery of open orders and invoice discrepancies.
        • Work collaboratively with multiple departments within the organization to understand and fulfill purchasing needs (R&D, Technical Operations, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, EH&S, Clinical Operations, Legal, and Commercial). 
        • Support relevant departments by communicating any supply chain issues which may impact current or future clinical trials.  
        • Responsible for relaying any on-going or repeat issues to our suppliers and collaborating with Supplier Quality regarding issuance of any corrective actions.
        • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practices tools and methods.
        • Prepares reports, analyze data, and make recommendations to increase operational efficiencies. 
        • Other duties or projects assigned by management.  
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's (BA) degree or combination of education and experience. 
  • 1-3 years of work experience in material/component procurement; experience in a pharma / biotech manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in MS Office, experience with ERP systems is a must. 
  • Ability to learn reporting tools. 
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with all employees
  • Must have good writing skills. 
  • Must have good time management skills and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently or within a team. 
  • Able to prioritize the workload to ensure delivery against tight deadlines.
